Election Day!

There is nothing that makes me love America more than election day. Since I'm sick of the T.V. telling me that I was 0-4 at the polls today I've decided to find some new reasons to like the land of the free. Here goes:

1. Pop music. How perfect is this picture btw. Where else can someone who has no talent become famous. I think we can all unite in our fear about the future of our soceity with the overly sexed up and violent music our youth are not only listening to but creating. Then again music is a perfect example of freedom of speech, so who are we to judge whats art to someone?

2. Starbucks. A monopoly which makes its fortunes selling legal addictive stimulants. The fact that they are already using christmas cups and serving seasonal beverages is the icing on the cake. The brilliant part is that I cant get enough. American Genius.

3. College football and all-american heros. sigh.

4. Public libraries. The funding for libraries comes from our tax dollars. Some people might think its a waste of money but I think everyone should have access to information and ideas. If we are denied this we are denied freedom. (the advent of the internet may render libraries obsolete. I hope not because I love the smell of musty books)

Today was such a beautiful day. My morning class was canceled so had some quality time with myself. I woke up early enough, voted, took my new kicks out for a spin, got starbucks (mmhmm so what), and did some homework. It was perfect. Now I'm enjoying 3 full hours of The Office, catching up on mags and looking forward to my last 12 hour shift tomorrow. As long as I dont put on the news life is good.
