Dear Spring

I'm so glad you've finally sprung. All the gray, sunless, cold, blustery days this year were hell on my seasonal affective disorder. Bring on the sunshine, back porch sitting, and day drinking. I'm jazzed. The last few weeks weren't ALL doom and gloom, heres a snippet (a big snippet) of recent festivities.

1. I TURNED 24!! New season, new month, new age-bring on the changes. I got to ring it in with my very "sweet" friends. We caught up, kicked back, and drank far too many beverages. It was the perfect weekend-see below-the pics speak for themselves. My goals for my 24th year are the usual, read more, procrastinate less, exercise more, drink less...blah blah...however my main goal is 'sow my wild oats' and live it up as a YOUNG, wild, root-less 20-something. on second thoughts the drink less is shitty.scratch it.move on.

who needs a boyfriend, I've got my girlfriends
thanks to my "super sweet" friends for a sick weekend

2. I went out to celebrate old St. Patty and who did I run into except my high school gals. It was so random and so fun to see them. Things are so diff now. Candice got married two summers ago and now lives the life in Hawaii, and Nicole had a huge, beautiful wedding last October. Ash is finishing her second degree and getting ready for law school. Time flies, it feels like yesterday we were chillaxin on Nicoles porch festering over boys :)

3. Speaking of high school...Song Contest 09. what a can of worms. The biggest tradition at my high school is song contest. For those of y'all who dont know, song contest is when all the classes at SGHS get together and write a medley of 'pep' songs about the school. The songs are usually set to pop songs and cover topics like prom, uniforms and, duh, CADETS! Each class is represented by two colors so essentially this is a glorified color war. It's amazing, and certainly my best memories from high school. My colors were pink and navy, and my sister who is a senior is in the class of silver and red. EmT and I had a ball sportin our red dresses and show boatin to all the tunes. Unforunately silver and red did NOT win (or place at all, yikes) and there were many tears (and f-bombs) from the class of 2009. C'est la vie.

4. My BIG sis Court (zeta not bio) had her bridal shower last weekend. She got some awes gifts AND we ate some absolutely delicious chicken salad. Mere even fashioned a beautiful bouquet out of ribbons. you go girl. Next up for the future Mrs. Ashe...the bach party in VA beach.aaah thats def the best part of being a 'maid.i'm stoked!

5. And last but certainly not least....doll baby laura leigh got ENGAGED a couple weekends ago. holy sha! Laura is my very best friend from college. We were life partners for approximately 3.5 years, we did absolutely everything together. September 26, Andrew gets to take over that role. AND, best of all, she asked me to be her maid of honor! She popped the question with a dozen gerber daisies, how presh! I'm so excited I could do a little jig. We're going to have the best time. I'm so looking forward to celebrating her past and also looking ahead to her new life with Andrew. Theres much to look forward to in the next 6 months!

Holy blogging. I clearly have a test tomorrow-I should probably get at that :)
