Monday Musings

1. I love virginia tech. I love crushing the U. I love ACC chants! I do not love the way 5 games of 21 cup and four loco make you feel the next day.

 2. HP 7 p1 was awesome. It was certainly the best of the films so far-they were very respectful of the book, which as a fan I always appreciate. I laughed, I cried, I cried, I cried some more...I was very surprised where they cut it off. It literally just ends. But my interest is peaked for the next movie, bring on the battle scenes. I'm so thankful to live in the time of Harry Potter.

 3. I got an adorable thank you card in the mail yesterday from one of my patients and their mother. It was a much needed reminder to keep the course. Words can't express how excited I am too finally have THE job I've been working toward for my whole life...still have a ways to go but there is actually light at the end of the tunnel.

4. Just came across JT on Ellen today. How fortuitous. I'm also very thankful to live in the time of JT. A true 21st century Renaissance man-musician, actor, athlete..oh and he's hilarious.

5. Now its time for Oprahs favorite things. Hopefully it will give me some ideas for my christmas list!

A Royal Engagement

Add this to the ever-growing list of reasons 2011 will be the best year ever.

From roughly 1996-2001 I had a royal obsession. My walls were plastered with his face, I wrote him a letter, and we had a club. stalker.much. A little tiny piece of me died yesterday...the piece of me that seriously thought I would be Queen (an intriguing and terrifying thought no doubt). AND NOW he's marrying a brunette he's dated for 8 years in 2011...coincidence?...I think not...

It probably wouldn't have worked...shes got a good 6 inches on me and I'm not a very good skiier. Needless to say my obsession is back in full force. I was concerned the wedding would be October 29 and that I would have to DVR. Now that that bullet is dodged I just hope we don't pick the same dress....or jewels. I love moments like this, it makes me feel so eighties.

Thanks for the memories Will and Congratulations Kate! See you on theknot.com!

Dear NBC

Dear NBC, just how much are you paying Lindsey Vonn to fake her shin injury? I understand that stirring up interest in the Olympics this year is tough, we all know Canadians can't do anything right but this tugging on the heart strings bit is getting old. It's time to set aside your greedy ambitions, bring Brian Williams back to NYC and move on with regularly scheduled programming.

Ash Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday which kicks of Lent. This is a time when Catholics get to do what they do best... self deprecation with a side of guilt.

I'm giving up cheese and sweets....what are YOU going to do?
